Description

We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their performance, security, and reliability. You will play a crucial role in supporting our applications and ensuring data integrity.

Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases including configuration, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develop and maintain database documentation including data models, database design, and database configurations.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for database-related issues, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet application requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

- 3-11 years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database design principles.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies in PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as pgAdmin, Nagios, or similar.
- Understanding of performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Experience with database security practices and data encryption methods.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
