Job Summary We are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Desktop Engineer to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktop systems, laptops, printers, and other hardware and software within the organization. You will also provide end-user support to resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity. This role is suited for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the day-to-day IT operations run smoothly and that employees are supported effectively.Key Responsibilities1. Desktop Support & Troubleshooting Provide technical support to end-users for desktop systems, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including application errors, system crashes, and network problems. Install, upgrade, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and standard applications. 2. Installation & Configuration Set up and configure new desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices as per company requirements. Install, configure, and troubleshoot productivity software (MS Office, email clients, antivirus, etc.). Manage user accounts and access permissions in Active Directory (if applicable). 3. Network & Connectivity Support Assist in configuring network settings on desktops and laptops (IP, DNS, Proxy, Wi-Fi, LAN). Troubleshoot internet issues, network drops, and basic connectivity problems. Work with the network team to resolve deeper network-related concerns. 4. Asset Management & Documentation Maintain inventory of IT hardware and software, ensuring records are up-to-date. Document support tickets, user requests, and issue resolution in the service desk system. Track warranty and maintenance schedules for desktops and laptops. 5. User Support & Training Provide on-site or remote assistance to employees for system-related queries. Assist users with email configuration, backup processes, and basic IT hygiene. Train end-users on basic system operations, security protocols, and software usage. 6. Security & Maintenance Ensure all systems are updated with the latest security patches and antivirus definitions. Monitor for malware or potential threats and take action when necessary.
