About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function at the corporate office in Gurugram. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract management, and cost optimization in the solar energy industry. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials and services for our solar projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives. Continuously assess sourcing options to ensure cost-efficiency, quality, and timely availability of solar components.
- Vendor Development & Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for solar modules, inverters, structures, cables, and other BoS components. Foster long-term supplier partnerships and negotiate contracts for optimal pricing and terms.
- Contract & Commercial Management:
- Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts and agreements. Ensure compliance with terms and protect the company's commercial interests.
- Cost Optimization & Benchmarking:
- Lead cost-reduction initiatives through negotiations, bulk sourcing, and supplier consolidation. Benchmark procurement costs with market trends.
- Quality & Compliance Assurance:
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure vendor compliance with technical standards (MNRE, IEC, etc.). Conduct audits and address non-compliance issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with engineering, project execution, logistics, and finance teams to streamline procurement planning and inventory management.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Track and report key procurement KPIs such as cost savings, lead time, supplier performance, and on-time delivery.
- Risk Mitigation:
- Identify supply chain risks (price fluctuations, import dependency, geopolitical risks) and develop mitigation strategies including alternative sourcing and long-term vendor contracts.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Deep understanding of solar procurement processes, including modules, inverters, BoS, and EPC materials
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Familiarity with domestic and international solar supply markets
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and procurement software
- Analytical approach to cost tracking and supplier performance
- Effective vendor development and relationship management abilities

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Mandatory: 6-12 years of experience in procurement, with at least 4-5 years in the solar/renewable energy industry
- Experience in large-scale solar EPC projects is highly desirable
