Java Backend Engineer

Role Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Java Backend Engineer with 6–10 years of experience to join our team. The role involves end-to-end software development, including story delivery, API development, unit testing, deployment, and participation in production support during business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver product features as part of agile sprints, including design, development, testing, and deployment
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD and deployment activities using Jenkins and Docker
- Monitor applications and systems using tools like Splunk and NewRelic
- Participate in the production support ROTA during business hours
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Contribute to design discussions and suggest scalable and maintainable solutions

Required Skills:

- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with Kafka and microservices architecture
- Solid understanding of design patterns and software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Proficiency in containerization using Docker
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
- Familiarity with API Gateway, Load Balancing, and monitoring tools like NewRelic and Splunk
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (Couchbase preferred)

Nice to Have:

- Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code and configuration management

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment
