About the Role:

The Team:

Data Management maintains the historical databases that support and feed the analysis, modelling and forecast work carried out by our customers. Global Economic, Financial, and Industry indicators are sourced from over 1,100 different sources worldwide, including International Organizations, Central Banks, Statistical Offices, other Government Institutions, and Private sources, covering more than 200 countries.

We act on evolving needs through new data development, process optimization and data collection transfer. We strive to keep and provide long historical time series amid changes in source offerings due to rebasing and changes to classification systems or methodology. We provide support to the Sales and Product Management teams with prospects, contract renewals, and new product development, as well as assistance to the Customer Care team around complex data requests.

The Impact:

The Senior Data Analyst role contributes to the business by supporting our macroeconomic and financial product delivering critical data and helping our customers make investment decisions. Data gathered and maintained constitutes the route of many S&P Global Market Intelligence businesses. It is crucial for GIA forecasts and analysis.

Responsibilities:

- Update macroeconomic, financial, and industry data in specified time frame
- Lead data revisions for assigned countries
- Maintain update calendar for assigned countries
- Provide training to new colleagues
- Look for new ways to improve and automate update process
- Collaborate with Data Stewards for new sources
- Data addition as requested by manager
- Quality control of all supported data
- Collaborate with Analysts to provide help in day-to-day questions/issues
- Provide second level support to customer via the ticket system

What We're Looking For:

- Bachelor's degree. Economic or Commerce background preferred
- Excellent English language both written and spoken
- Computer Literate: Good grasp of specialist software tools relating to automatic capture from online sources. A working understanding of the principles of computer scripting/macros and programming to be able to apply this to using the company standard process optimization tools
- Analysis and Troubleshooting: Possess and demonstrate excellent specialist knowledge to be able to suggest solutions to improve the speed and accuracy of data sourcing and capture
- Proactive: Self-motivated and able to analyse problems and devise effective solutions and to be able to initiate new ideas for consideration in the pursuance of better data sourcing and capture in the specialist area
- Communication: Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing and possess good explaining skills
- Innovative: Be able to think laterally to achieve results
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic preferred
