Role Overview The Lead Category Manager will be responsible for driving category growth, profitability, and product innovation across assigned verticals. This role demands strategic thinking, strong business acumen, and hands-on category management experience. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, design, and tech teams to deliver exceptional consumer experiences and achieve revenue goals. Key Responsibilities - Category Strategy & Planning: - Develop and implement business plans for category growth, pricing, and positioning. - Identify emerging trends, customer needs, and market opportunities to shape the product roadmap. - P&L Ownership: - Manage category budgets, margins, and profitability. - Drive pricing, promotions, and assortment strategies to maximize sales and optimize costs. - Assortment & Merchandising: - Curate and manage product assortment across digital and retail platforms. - Partner with design, sourcing, and vendor teams to ensure freshness, innovation, and timely launches. - Vendor & Supplier Management: - Build and maintain strong supplier relationships for better negotiation, terms, and performance. - Explore new sourcing opportunities and manage vendor onboarding. - Collaboration & Execution: - Work closely with marketing teams on campaigns and new product launches. - Coordinate with supply chain and operations to ensure availability, quality, and customer satisfaction. - Data & Insights: - Use analytics to track performance, consumer behavior, and inventory efficiency. - Generate actionable insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement. Key Requirements - Education: MBA or equivalent in Marketing, Retail, or Business Management. - Experience: 710 years of experience in Category Management, Merchandising, or Product Management (preferably in e-commerce, FMCG, lifestyle, or gifting industries). - Strong analytical and commercial acumen with P&L management experience. - Proven track record of launching and scaling product categories. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. - Ability to balance strategic vision with operational excellence.
