Introduction We are looking for a dedicated, well-organized, and customer-friendly Dental Receptionist / Dental Assistant to join our dental clinic team. This dual-role position involves managing front-desk operations, assisting patients, coordinating appointments, maintaining records, and supporting the dentist during clinical procedures. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, a friendly attitude, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced dental clinic environment. Front Desk & Reception Management Greet patients warmly and create a friendly, welcoming environment. Handle phone calls and answer patient inquiries professionally. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments. Maintain an organized patient appointment calendar. Guide patients on registration and fill out necessary forms. Maintain a clean and presentable reception area at all times. 2. Patient Coordination & Assistance Assist patients with the check-in and check-out process. Ensure patient details and medical history are recorded accurately. Provide information about treatments, procedures, and billing when required. Offer comfort and reassurance to patients, especially children and anxious individuals. 3. Assisting the Dentist Prepare dental instruments, equipment, and materials before each procedure. Assist the dentist during treatments by passing instruments, suctioning, and preparing materials. Ensure the dentist has everything required during procedures to maximize efficiency. Provide chair-side assistance and anticipate the dentist’s needs proactively. Educate patients on post-procedure care when required. 4. Equipment & Clinic Maintenance Ensure all dental tools and instruments are sterilized and properly stored. Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in dental operatories before and after patient treatments. Check dental supplies and ensure adequate stock levels. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance requirements promptly. 5. Record Keeping & Billing Support Maintain patient treatment records accurately. Help in managing billing, payment collections, and issuing receipts. Update insurance claims if applicable. Work with the dentist and clinic manager to ensure smooth operational workflow.Required Skills & Competencies1. Technical & Administrative Skills Basic knowledge of dental procedures and instruments (training provided if required). Familiarity with appointment scheduling software (preferred but not mandatory). Ability to manage patient data and maintain confidentiality. Understanding of billing processes and insurance handling is an advantage. 2. Communication & Interpersonal Skills Excellent verbal communication skills in English and local language. Ability to explain procedures, appointments, and costs to patients clearly. Empathy and patience when dealing with anxious patients. Professional and polite interaction with patients and colleagues. 3. Personal Attributes Positive attitude and customer-first approach. Highly organized with good time-management skills. Attention to detail while handling patient records and clinical tools.
