Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Data Processing the Customer Service Representative receives technology related telephone inquiries and problems, answers questions from personal knowledge and computer database, as time and complexity permit. Prepares narrative summaries of other questions for referral to department specialists. Enters work orders as they are called in from the schools for the Maintenance Department.

Classified job is announced to all applicants. Applications must be submitted no later than Thursday, April 10, 2025. 5 hours per day/238 days per year/Salary Grade 7 $19.40 per hour (2024 - 2025 Support Salary Table) Hours are from 11:30 am -4:30 pm [Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase] General Function: Under the direction of the Director of Information Systems the Customer Service Representative receives technology related telephone inquiries and problems, answers questions from personal knowledge and computer database, as time and complexity permit. Prepares narrative summaries of other questions for referral to department specialists. Enters technology and school maintenance related work orders as they are called in. Educational Requirements: 1. Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations. 2. Formal education or training in computer-related subjects desirable. Knowledge & Ability: 1. Ability to operate computer and knowledge of computer vocabulary and concepts. 2. Basic office skills (preferably with Microsoft Office Tools). 3. Ability to answer questions and resolve basic computer related problems. 4. Ability to analytically resolve problems. 5. Excellent interpersonal skills. 6. Strong general verbal and written communication skills and good telephone skills. 7. Familiarity with customer service practices. Job-Related Experience: 1. None required. 2. Computer and/or customer service experience desirable.
