Role & Responsibilities Overview:

- Oversee the preparation of loss reserve estimates, including IBNR and case reserves, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory and accounting standards. .
- Develop, review, and enhance reserving methodologies and models, incorporating advanced statistical techniques and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with client and conduct reserving reviews, working closely with actuaries, finance, underwriting, claims, and external auditors.
- Monitor reserve adequacy and perform risk assessments to identify emerging trends and potential reserve deficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline reserving processes, enhance data quality, and increase automation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable actuarial standards of practice, accounting principles (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain reserve models in tools like ResQ, Arius etc. Identify opportunities for seamless integration with downstream processes
- Lead and manage the reserving team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences or statistics.
- Affiliation to IAI or IFOA, nearly qualified actuary or actuary with 8+ CT actuarial exams will be an added advantage
- 8+ years Actuarial experience in the P&C insurance industry
- Good knowledge of insurance products, regulatory frameworks, and accounting standards related to reserving.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Databricks, SQL, and other relevant tools for data analysis and modeling.
- Familiarity with reserving tools like ResQ, Arius is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate actuarial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
