As a Software Engineering - Developer at Kyndryl, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge software solutions. Your work will play a critical role in our business offering, your code will deliver value to our customers faster than ever before, and your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be critical in ensuring the success of our products.

Using design documentation and functional programming specifications, you will be responsible for implementing identified components. You will ensure that implemented components are appropriately documented, unit-tested, and ready for integration into the final product. You will have the opportunity to architect the solution, test the code, and deploy and build a CI/CD pipeline for it.

- Analyze, design, and develop applications using IMS-DB, DB2, and COBOL.

- Modify and enhance existing COBOL-DB2 code and write new code from scratch.

- Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements and design migration strategies from IMS-DB to DB2.

- Develop and execute migration scripts and utilities ensuring data consistency and integrity.

- Optimize application code to leverage DB2 features for improved performance.

- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of migrated applications.

- Document code changes, migration processes, and testing procedures.

- Work closely with DBAs, Application Analysts, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.

- Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices in mainframe development and database migration.

Required Skills:

- 5+ years of experience in application development using IMS-DB, DB2, and COBOL.
- Strong understanding of IMS-DB architecture, IMS calls, and queries.
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and SQL for DB2.
- Experience with data structures, access methods, and database utilities.
- Familiarity with migration tools and utilities is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in large-scale IMS-DB to DB2 migration projects.
- Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
