We are searching for a Senior Technical Writer to enhance our Industrial Automation Digital team, specifically one who has experience in crafting clear technical documentation for Enterprise platforms and solutions, both on-premise and on-cloud Your role and responsibilities We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our Industrial Automation Digital organization. The role requires one to design and author technical documentation targeted at the platform’s personas. The platform will deliver both enterprise solutions and focused analytical applications to serve as decision support with closed loop capabilities. It will be focused on Operations, Asset Management, Maintenance & Reliability, HSE, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Projects, Business (HR, Finance, etc.), for the Oil & Gas, Refinery, Metals & Mining, Power Generation and such industry verticals. The platform will be offered as Software-as-a-Service on Cloud as well for on-premise deployment. The work model for the role is: Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: - Create high-quality documentation—including developer guides, online help, tutorials, and alternative media—to support different user personas and ensure maximum usability. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain deep product understanding, gather requirements, and maintain an effective information architecture. - Analyse and optimize content by identifying reuse and single-sourcing opportunities for improved consistency and efficiency. - Provide UX editorial input on applications and wireframes to enhance clarity, usability, and overall documentation quality. Qualifications for the role: - Holds 8 to 10 years of experience within the technical writing domain, demonstrating advanced English writing and communication capabilities. - Collaborates effectively with various stakeholders while overseeing the complete documentation process for designated scrums. - Develops concise, detail-oriented product documentation for large enterprise software across multiple releases. - Demonstrates proficiency in DITA/XML-based authoring tools (Madcap Flare, Oxygen, X-Metal) and content management systems. - Quickly grasps complex technical and domain concepts and converts them into clear, understandable text and visuals. - Possesses experience in Agile SDLC, effectively managing changing priorities, overseeing documentation processes, and encouraging content reuse in various guides. - Has attained a relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, showcasing effective communication and interaction abilities More about us ABB’s Process Automation business area enables customers to operate some of the world’s largest and most complex industrial infrastructures, helping them outrun – leaner and cleaner.
