Introduction A Credit Consultant is responsible for assisting customers with their credit requirements, including loan eligibility, credit score improvement, debt management, and financial planning. The role involves advising clients on loan products, helping them prepare applications, verifying documentation, and coordinating with banks, NBFCs, or financial institutions. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of credit products, and knowledge of banking processes. This role is suitable for individuals with an interest in finance, sales, and customer service who can provide personalized credit solutions. Key Responsibilities 1. Customer Consultation & Credit Assessment Interact with customers to understand their financial needs, goals, and repayment capacity. Assess the customer’s credit profile, income sources, and liabilities. Guide clients about loan eligibility, interest rates, and repayment terms. Educate customers about improving their CIBIL score and creditworthiness. 2. Loan & Credit Product Advisory Recommend suitable loan products such as personal loans, home loans, business loans, auto loans, or credit cards. Explain product features, benefits, interest rates, and repayment schedules. Compare loan offers from multiple banks or NBFCs to provide the best possible deal. 3. Documentation & Verification Assist customers in collecting and preparing required documents like ID proof, income statements, bank statements, and employment details. Verify and validate client documents before submission. Coordinate with banking and financial partners for loan processing and approvals. 4. Credit Score Improvement Guidance Analyze customers’ credit reports and identify factors affecting their scores. Advise on strategies to improve CIBIL scores, such as timely payments, debt consolidation, and better credit utilization. Help clients dispute incorrect credit report entries when needed. 5. Sales & Lead Generation Generate leads through cold calling, referrals, bulk SMS, email campaigns, and digital marketing. Follow up with potential customers to convert inquiries into approved loans. Meet monthly sales and revenue targets set by the company. 6. Reporting & Coordination Maintain accurate customer records, loan application statuses, and approvals. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to management on leads, conversions, and closures. Coordinate with bank representatives, NBFC executives, and internal teams for smooth loan processing. Requirements Educational Qualifications Minimum 12th Pass / Graduate in any discipline. A degree or diploma in Finance, Banking, or Business Administration is preferred. Technical Skills Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with loan processing software, CRM tools, or ERP systems. Understanding of credit reports, financial calculations, and EMI planning. Soft Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Customer-focused and result-oriented mindset.
