Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Xerox Machine Operator to manage daily photocopying, scanning, printing, and binding tasks at our office/shop. The ideal candidate should be familiar with operating various types of Xerox and multifunction printers (MFPs), handling paper settings, toner replacement, paper loading, basic troubleshooting, and providing excellent customer service (in case of shop-based work). This role requires technical precision, time management, and basic customer interaction skills. Candidates who have previously worked in printing shops, schools, colleges, or corporate offices are preferred. 10th pass or fail can apply, training will be provided.Key Responsibilities1. Xerox / Photocopy Operations Operate Xerox machines or multifunction printers (MFPs) for black & white and color photocopying tasks. Select appropriate paper sizes, orientation, print quality, and quantity as per requirements. Make single-side, double-side, booklet-style, and enlarged/reduced-size copies as needed. 2. Scanning & Printing Use the scanner function to digitize documents in high-resolution formats (PDF, JPEG, etc.). Print documents from pen drives, emails, or PCs using the right file formats and settings. Maintain printing queues, file accuracy, and output quality for all print jobs. 3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform regular cleaning, basic maintenance, and toner cartridge replacements. Load paper, remove jams, clean glass panels, and fix alignment or output errors. Report major machine faults to the maintenance technician or service vendor on time. 4. Binding & Finishing Provide services like spiral binding, stapling, lamination, and trimming. Handle booklets, ID cards, resume printing, and other value-added print services. 5. Customer Handling (for Print Shops) Greet walk-in customers and understand their requirements clearly. Guide customers on paper types, print sizes, file formats, and service rates. Collect and process payments (cash, UPI, card) and issue receipts when required. Maintain politeness, speed, and service accuracy during peak hours. 6. Documentation & Record-Keeping Maintain logs of print jobs, copies made, toner usage, and service requests. For office-based roles, keep track of official copying and usage per department. Maintain file confidentiality and data security when handling sensitive documents.Skills & Competencies Technical Skills: Proficient in operating Xerox, Canon, Ricoh, HP, Konica Minolta, or similar machines. Knowledge of paper types, print formats, scaling, and duplex printing. Basic understanding of Windows/Mac systems, USB usage, and printing from email. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PDF viewers, or basic photo editing (optional). Operational Efficiency: Ability to manage large volumes of print/copy work under time pressure. Quick paper loading, error handling, and minimal supervision. Organized workflow for multi-tasking (copy, print, scan, bind) without confusion. Soft Skills: Clear verbal communication in the local language (Tamil, Hindi, Marathi, etc.) and basic English. Customer-friendly behavior and patience when assisting walk-ins. Punctual, responsible, and careful in handling documents and machines.
