Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Solar Engineer. The Solar Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining solar power systems. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site evaluations, preparing electrical and PV system designs, overseeing installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing technical support. The role also involves collaborating with clients and other team members to deliver high-quality solar solutions that meet our clients energy requirements and expectations.
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of solar power projects (both rooftop and ground-mounted) from site mobilization to commissioning
- Supervise site surveying, soil testing analysis, and all civil foundation work (footings, pedestals).
- Ensure precise installation and alignment of Module Mounting Structures (MMS) as per design drawings
- Manage trenching, cable tray installation, and construction of control rooms/inverter stations.
- Supervise DC cable laying, stringing, and proper connections within Array Junction Boxes (AJBs) / String Combiner Boxes (SCBs).
- Ensure all DC terminations at the inverter end are performed with precision and tested for polarity and voltage.
- Manage the installation of inverters, AC Distribution Boards (ACDBs), transformers, and other AC switchgear
- Oversee the AC cabling from the inverter to the main distribution panel and grid interface point
- Supervise the installation of earthing and lightning protection systems as per Indian Standards (IS)
- Lead the pre-commissioning and commissioning tests for both DC and AC systems
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily progress reports, material consumption logs, and as-built drawings
- Enforce strict adherence to engineering designs, quality standards, and safety protocols (HSE) on-site. Conduct regular quality checks and safety audits.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
- A minimum of 6-8 years of verifiable, hands-on experience in the field installation and commissioning of solar PV projects
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings (Civil, Electrical SLDs)
- Proficiency in using testing equipment like multimeters, insulation testers, and earth testers
- Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to travel extensively and be based at project sites across Telangana
