JD for Academics Manager The role of an Academics Manager in a preschool setting involves overseeing the educational programs and activities tailored for young children typically between the ages of 2 to 5 years Here s a job description for an Academics Head in a preschool Job Title Academics manager - Preschool Job Responsibilities Curriculum Development Design and develop age-appropriate curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and promote holistic child development Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that foster cognitive social emotional and physical growth Staff Supervision and Development Recruit hire and provide ongoing training and professional development for teachers and support staff Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback for improvement Student Assessment and Progress Tracking Implement assessment tools and techniques to monitor each child s progress identifying strengths and areas for improvement Provide guidance to teachers on individualized learning plans and interventions Parent and Guardian Communication Foster open and transparent communication with parents and guardians providing updates on their child s development activities and achievements Organize parent-teacher conferences and workshops to enhance parental involvement Classroom Environment and Resources Ensure that classrooms are safe stimulating and conducive to learning with age-appropriate materials and equipment Manage resource allocation and procurement to support effective teaching and learning Regulatory Compliance Stay updated on local and national educational regulations licensing requirements and health and safety standards Ensure that the preschool is in compliance with all relevant guidelines Special Needs and Inclusion Develop strategies and accommodations to support children with diverse learning needs fostering an inclusive learning environment Program Evaluation and Improvement Collect and analyze data related to program effectiveness making adjustments as necessary to enhance learning outcomes Requirements Qualifications Educational Background Bachelor s or Master s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field Experience Significant experience in early childhood education including prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role Pedagogical Knowledge Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education Leadership Skills Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of educators and support staff in a collaborative and positive manner Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff parents and external stakeholders Creativity and Adaptability Ability to create innovative and engaging learning experiences while being flexible and adaptable to the needs of young children CPR and First Aid Certification Typically required for ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the preschool setting
