everywhere you want to be POSITION SUMMARYThis Systems Engineer position is within the Storage Engineering Team and falls under Infrastructure as a Service IaaS This position will build test and document new storage and backup infrastructure as well as serve as a Level 3 escalation point for existing infrastructure This position is part of the Global Storage organization and is therefore required to collaborate with Engineers across global time-zones in a follow-the-sun model This position is expected to interact with Operations Product Development Technology Business Management and various groups within Operations Infrastructure This role must have strong communication and analytical skills RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the implementation security and availability of Storage Backups and SAN infrastructure based on business requirements while adhering to tight operations security and procedural models Responsible for complex provisioning advanced maintenance data replication disaster recovery data migration and documentation for our Open Systems Storage and Backup environments Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise to support complex Storage Backup devices including SAN NAS Object and Backup solutions across all tiers Operate in complex highly secure highly available operations-centric datacenter environments and interact with other technology domain experts as required to build and maintain the Open Systems Storage and Backups solutions in those datacenter environments Assist in security remediation of known vulnerabilities for Storage ecosystem This is a hybrid position Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week determined by leadership site with a general guidepost of being in the office 50 or more of the time based on business needs QualificationsREQUIRED SKILLS EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree in computer science engineering or related field is preferred Four or more years of solid experience working in SAN Storage Backup Administration Experience working in large complex enterprise datacenter environments Knowledge in deploying and supporting Open Systems Enterprise SAN NAS and Backup solutions in a hybrid cloud model Extensive storage networking background is preferred Preferred knowledge of OS fundamentals for Linux and or Microsoft platforms Preferred knowledge of virtualization and or container technologies and products from VMware RedHat or Microsoft Hands-on experience with AFA SAN arrays e g DELL EMC PowerMax or Hitachi VSP Hands-on experience with FC or IP networking e g Brocade or Cisco Hands-on experience with NAS arrays e g DELL EMC PowerScale or PureStorage FlashBlade Hands-on experience with Object storage e g DELL EMC ECS or PureStorage FlashBlade Hands-on experience with Backup Data Protection technologies e g Rubrik Veritas NetBackup or DELL EMC DataDomain Experience with Disaster Recovery as it relates to storage systems and data recovery techniques e g data replication and snapshots Ability to perform analysis and troubleshooting skills for the end-to-end storage and backup stack VMs K8 hosts SAN Storage Backup devices Experience in system monitoring tools and techniques for supporting SAN NAS Object and Backup operations alerting and remediation Scripting proficiency in both Windows and Linux environments Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong inter-personal skills Demonstrated ability to rapidly self-learn new
