This role is for one of the Weekday s clients Min Experience 8 years Location Gurgaon JobType full-time We are seeking an experienced AWS Database Expert with a strong focus on PostgreSQL to manage optimize and secure databases in a high-availability cloud environment This role will play a key part in supporting scalable applications especially within fintech and other data-intensive domains You will be responsible for performance tuning automation disaster recovery and compliance within a mission-critical AWS setup Requirements Key Responsibilities Design deploy and maintain PostgreSQL databases on AWS with a focus on high availability scalability and performance Implement robust backup disaster recovery and failover strategies to ensure data protection and availability Continuously monitor and fine-tune database performance using tools such as Amazon CloudWatch Conduct regular security reviews patch updates and implement best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards Work closely with development teams to optimize database schemas indexing and SQL queries Manage and maintain AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL instances including provisioning patching and upgrades Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages like Python Bash or equivalent Provide technical expertise and guidance to teams on database optimization query tuning and cloud-native data management Stay up-to-date with evolving database technologies and AWS services to continuously enhance system performance and reliability Required Skills Qualifications Deep hands-on experience in managing and tuning PostgreSQL databases especially within AWS environments Expertise in AWS services including RDS Aurora EC2 S3 IAM CloudWatch and AWS CLI Strong understanding of database security disaster recovery planning and data integrity practices Proficiency in scripting and automation tools Python Bash or similar Familiarity with networking fundamentals such as DHCP DNS and load balancing Ability to create detailed documentation for systems architecture standard procedures and configurations Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in agile and DevOps environments Educational Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent professional experience A minimum of 10 years of experience in database administration with a specialization in PostgreSQL and AWS-based infrastructures Technical Skills Core Database PostgreSQL AWS Services RDS Aurora EC2 S3 IAM CloudWatch AWS CLI Performance Reliability Indexing Query Optimization Partitioning Disaster Recovery Performance Tuning Scripting Automation Python Bash Security Compliance Backup Patching Access Control
