Role Overview: The IT Manager - E-commerce Retail will oversee all technology operations and ensure the seamless functioning of digital platforms in a fast-paced e-commerce retail environment. This role involves managing IT infrastructure, ensuring platform uptime, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and implementing scalable tech solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency in a digital-first ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: 1. E-commerce & Digital Platform Management - Oversee end-to-end technical operations of the e-commerce platform (website, app, backend systems). - Ensure high uptime, speed, and security of digital properties. - Coordinate with development teams for new feature rollouts, bug fixes, and version updates. - Manage integrations with third-party tools such as payment gateways, logistics, CRM, ERP, and marketing automation platforms. 2. IT Infrastructure & Network Management - Maintain robust IT infrastructure across corporate office, warehouses, and retail stores. - Manage network security, data backups, and server performance. - Oversee hardware and software procurement, installation, and maintenance. - Ensure data privacy and compliance with IT policies and security protocols. 3. Technology Projects & Process Automation - Drive digital transformation initiatives and process automation to improve efficiency. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service) for system enhancements. - Manage implementation of ERP / POS / Inventory management systems and ensure their integration with e-commerce platforms. 4. Team & Vendor Management - Lead and mentor the IT team; allocate resources and monitor performance. - Manage relationships with external technology vendors, agencies, and service providers. - Negotiate service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure timely delivery of projects. 5. Data Security & Compliance - Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect systems and data. - Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability tests. - Ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, IT Act, etc.). Key Skills & Competencies: - Strong understanding of e-commerce technology architecture and digital ecosystems. - Hands-on experience with Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, or custom-built platforms. - Familiarity with ERP systems, CRM tools, API integrations, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Proficiency in network management, cybersecurity, and database administration. - Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills. - Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment. Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. - 7-10 years of IT experience, with at least 3-5 years in an e-commerce or digital-first retail setup. - Proven track record of managing e-commerce technology platforms and IT infrastructure. - Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or CISSP will be an added advantage. Performance Indicators (KPIs): - Platform uptime and system performance metrics. - Incident resolution time and SLA adherence. - Successful delivery of IT/digital projects within timelines and budgets. - Reduction in system downtime and security incidents. - Improvement in internal process automation and operational efficiency.
