Job Description: Sr.VP Vice President – Taxation Experience Required: 20 years Industry: Big 4 Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) About the Role We are seeking an accomplished and forward-looking Vice President – Taxation to lead and manage the complete tax function for our organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both Direct and Indirect Taxation, combined with a strong understanding of the Insurance / Services industry. The role demands a leader who can provide strategic direction, ensure compliance, and drive value through effective tax planning and risk management. Key Responsibilities Direct & Indirect Tax Management - Oversee all aspects of Direct Tax (Corporate Tax, MAT, TDS, Transfer Pricing, International Taxation). - Lead Indirect Tax management including GST, Service Tax, Customs, and Excise where applicable. - Ensure accurate and timely compliance with tax filings, assessments, and audits. Strategic Tax Planning & Advisory - Develop and implement tax-efficient structures, policies, and strategies aligned with business objectives. - Advise leadership on the impact of changing tax laws and regulatory updates. - Evaluate cross-border taxation issues and advise on international tax implications. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management - Liaise with regulatory authorities, statutory bodies, and external auditors. - Handle tax litigations, assessments, and represent the company before tax authorities. - Mitigate tax risks through proactive monitoring and strong internal controls. Business Partnership - Work closely with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Business teams to support new initiatives and transactions. - Provide tax inputs on mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and new business models. - Partner with senior management to align tax strategies with organizational growth. Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing taxation team. - Build capabilities in tax technology and automation for better compliance and reporting. Key Requirements - Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong academic and professional background. - 15+ years of experience in taxation with significant exposure to both Direct and Indirect Taxation. - Prior experience in a Big4 firm is highly preferred. - Strong track record of handling complex tax structures, compliance, and litigation. - Excellent understanding of Indian tax laws, Insurance sector regulations, and global tax frameworks. - Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making. - Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
