Organizational Overview

Synchrony's Information Security Agile program's mission is to :

Lead Information Security Solution SAFe agile transformation, Engage IAM-IS leadership, Design and execute Solution event cadences and processes, Provide Agile leadership across all agile teams in the Solution Train, Measure and monitor agile teams capacity, Formulate and publish various agile metrics, Deliver on the overall Information Security goal.

Role Summary/Purpose

- Information Security Scrum Master will be responsible for leading two or more of our agile scrum teams on InfoSec projects and initiatives. This individual will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching teams through agile methodologies.
- As AVP Scrum Master, you will be responsible for leading agile scrum teams executing the InfoSec Agile roadmap, and facilitating strategic and tactical conversations among a wide range of business and technical stakeholders.
- This role is responsible for collaborating with Info Sec product managers, product owners, technical leads, clients and other stakeholders in delivering a seamless customer experience in the IS space, and leading the Agile teams to deliver.
- The ideal candidate will be a strong agile process SME and coach on agile methodologies.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background with a focus on technology and Agile development, as well as a proven track record of delivering critical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead teams and the organization on how to best use Agile principles/frameworks and effectively leverages appropriate best practices
- Advocate for autonomous, self-organizing, empowered, and continuously improving teams
- Act as Scrum Master for assigned Scrum teams, facilitating ceremonies such as, stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Manage Sprints - keeping order, process, delivery, priorities accurate and on time
- Keep scrum team focused on concrete priorities while keeping outside influences from disrupting the Scrum team and actively identify and remove waste and distractions
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand the expected product functionality and customer requirements.
- Assist in removing team impediments, and track and maintain metrics. Promote collaboration, transparency, and communicate accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
- Create, assess, update and maintain agile documentation
- Generates agile metrics reports indicating velocity, burn-down, etc.
- Lead projects in Waterfall to Agile methodologies.
- Support Agile transformation journey
- Be the Agile learnings lead for the ART
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Required Skills/Knowledge

- Bachelors degree in any discipline with 6+ years of work experience, or in lieu of degree 8+ years of work experience
- Minimum 5+ year of IT experience
- Minimum 5+ year of experience with Jira, Agile, and other project management tools
- Minimum 5 years of working in Agile transformation as a PM to SM.
- Hands-on experience in agile, scrum master, project manager roles
- SAFe Agilist, SAFE Scrum Master certification.

Desired Skills/Knowledge

- InfoSec/IAM business and technology experience is a plus
- Previous working experience with InfoSec technologies and have a firm understanding of Agile principles and frameworks.
- Previous working experience coaching and transforming technology delivery teams into an Agile framework. Skilled at organizing and communicating complex concepts - must be capable of breaking down complex situations, this applies to both technical issues and process issues.
- Strong experience managing Agile delivery projects.
- Organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail a must. Ability to work with teams to gather unrefined business requirements from multiple sources and formulate and deliver a solution in a timely manner.
- Ability to work under the pressure of multiple projects and deadlines at once. Solid communication skills and must be highly motivated and demonstrate high level of initiative.
- Must be a self-starter, ability to quickly learn, adapt, shows initiative and thinks outside the box.

Bachelors degree in any discipline with 6+ years of work experience, or in lieu of degree 8+ years of work experience

WORK TIMINGS: 3:30pm to 12:30am IST

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
