UNIT PURPOSE Emirates NBD is seeking a highly innovative and transformative delivery professionals to assume responsibility for developing the people, process and technology to compete on the global stage. The role will reside in the Group IT division. Group IT drives and delivers the IT solutions, that powers success across multiple international geographies and nationally within the UAE. The Group IT - Technology Platforms develops and supports a comprehensive catalogue of technology services and platforms. The success of the team is measured through service availability, high velocity delivery of new and enhanced IT services that enable and empower the business and through the successful balancing of cost, capability development, risk and overall service performance. As part of Group IT and the Transformation program, our focus is on improving effectiveness and efficiency to our customers and partners within Emirates NBD. JOB PURPOSE Group IT has a matrix management structure. The Lead Technology Engineer role will have line management and reporting into the VP Technology Chapter but will be assigned to a Platform squad for task management and prioritization. He/She will implement the design and build of the platform along with all associated components from inception to maturity of the running environment over time. The role will be responsible for driving change and delivering new technology into the Bank by onboarding customers and applications to the Platform via self-service and automation. The Lead Technology Engineer will work closely with other Platform and Product teams in educating them on the new Platform, services and features to ensure any transition and consumption is optimal. Teams work using Agile + DevOps + Product Management methodologies, delivering work packages based on the priority in the backlog. We are looking for a Lead Technology Engineer to build and maintain ENBD SDN-Fabric network using on Enterprise Sonic and Legacy networking. Our stack is Cisco, Sonic and Cumulus. Ideally, he/she should have a track record of building Sonic Network for enterprise organization and describe in detail how it was built, or an extensive network administration experience as well as experience in building SDN-Fabric Networks using automation. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Technology Engineering - An expert in Compute, Networks, Database, Cloud or associated DevOps - Strong technical expertise with a focus on development and coding - Good infrastructure and security knowledge - Facilitating getting the work done across the parallel development teams - Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution - Clear internal and external communication, improving transparency across teams and stakeholders - Ability to work at an abstract level and continuously 'pivot' to arrive at the best solution for the end customer - Energized by complex problem solving and ability to innovate new solutions - Ability to work under pressure, manage client expectations Relationship Management - Trustful and professional relationships with key stakeholders - Has developed synergies across services, optimizing re-use, promoting simplification and demonstrating speed-to-market benefits - Commercial and business focused to improve IT services - Trustful and pragmatic approach to problem solving - Ability to adopt the Group's values and drive adoption of the values across the team Delivery Experience - Ability to work on projects from inception to delivery - Decision making to decide on best solution based on cost, time and quality of options - Cross skills in delivery but also operational support as per the new DevOps model - Implementing robust solutions to minimize operational effort KEY REQUIREMENTS Education - IT or similar Bachelor's degree or higher - Equivalent work experience Experiences - At least 8 years total engineering or operational experience. - At least 3 relevant years of experience in a similar role. - Experience within large and complex global enterprises defined by high availability, transaction rates, and geographical distribution. Technical Skills - Expertise in infrastructure, systems administration, design and engineering, with a cloud computing and DevOps focus - Current experience with contemporary and innovative solutions - Understanding of the long-term IT Strategy and ability to work towards that with each project. - Functional and technical understanding of critical systems and Banking services. - Strong understanding of the technical risks, security, compliance and audit requirements. - Maintaining a strategic stance over tactical fixes - Demonstrated ability to manage complex vendor and supplier relationships - Proven experience in contributing to and executing technology service development plans or roadmaps - Advanced understanding of telemetry protocols: syslog, SNMP, gRPC, Netflow, S-flow, SSH polling and templating and others. - Experience in network administration and expert understanding of modern network concepts and protocols: routing, switching, Wi-Fi, WAN optimization, BGP, OSFP, MP-BGP, EVPN, VLAN, VXLAN, spanning tree. - Track record of using Python, Ansible or other open-source tools for network automation. - Expert in Enterprise Sonic SDN-Networks and Legacy Networking.
