Job Description Position: Senior Manager - Legal Counsel, Gurugram Department: Legal | Role: Full-time | Experience: 7 to 9 Years | Number of Positions: 1 | Location: Gurugram Skillset: Legal & Litigation, Contract Management, Legal Advisory & Compliance, Corporate Governance & Risk, Excellent English communication skills Job Description: Role Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Legal Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of Indian legal systems, with hands-on experience in litigation, corporate advisory, and regulatory matters. The candidate must have worked in both a corporate legal department and a practicing law firm, demonstrating versatility and depth in legal practice. Key Responsibilities: 1. Litigation Management: Handle and oversee civil, commercial, and regulatory litigation across various forums including High Courts, Tribunals, and District Courts. Coordinate with external counsels, draft pleadings, and ensure timely filing and representation. Maintain litigation trackers and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders. 2. Legal Advisory & Compliance: Provide legal opinions and risk assessments on business operations, contracts, and regulatory issues. Ensure compliance with applicable laws including Contract Act, IPR, Labour Laws, and sector- specific regulations. 3. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including vendor contracts, NDAs, lease deeds, service agreements, and MoUs. Support business teams in structuring legally sound transactions. 4. Regulatory & Statutory Interface: Liaise with government authorities, regulators, and law enforcement agencies as required. Handle legal notices and statutory communications. 5. Corporate Governance & Risk: Support internal audits, risk assessments, and policy reviews. Assist in legal due diligence for M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. Qualifications & Skills: LL.B. from a reputed law school. 78 years of post-qualification experience, with exposure to both corporate legal departments and practicing law firms. Strong litigation experience with proven track record in handling cases independently. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office suite. Preferred Attributes: Experience in real estate, infrastructure, or regulated sectors is a plus. Exposure to arbitration and alternate dispute resolution mechanisms. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
