About Delta Air LinesAbout the CompanyDelta Air Lines NYSE DAL is the U S global airline leader in safety innovation reliability and customer experience Powered by our employees around the world Delta has for a decade led the airline industry in operational excellence while maintaining our reputation for award-winning customer service With our mission of connecting the people and cultures of the globe Delta strives to foster understanding across a diverse world and serve as a force for social good In 2023 Delta was named the Worlds Most Admired Airline by with the company ranking No 1 across the board in the industry for values including innovation and people management Delta also rated higher than any other airline on the overall list of Most Admired Companies climbing to No 12 this year YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE Provide technical leadership and develop a team of highly skilled and motivated individuals Provide technical guidance on software architectural patterns and drive adherence to CCoE established patterns Provide leadership and work collaboratively with cross-functional IT teams Build data APIs and data delivery services that support critical operational and analytical applications for Deltas internal business operations customers and partners Take responsibility for ensuring that model code data pipelines APIs and user interfaces are developed and deployed successfully into production Troubleshooting issues that arise and supporting production applications Continuously integrate code into Deltas on premise and AWS cloud environments Lead the team to adopt technologies that enable developer productivity speed to market reduce code deployment lead times reduce cost with a clear focus on reliability application stability and performance Evangelize Deltas Cloud journey and support team experimentation and innovation to create and implement better products faster Act as a change agent adopting Deltas enterprise agility strategy and lean principles to support business growth reduce operational costs and or improve service levels Engage in Agile software development activities including sprint planning daily standups retrospectives and hackathons Lead by example and create a high-trust culture Mentor and coach team members to develop specific behaviors skills or knowledge needed to ensure sustained performance and to prepare for success in new responsibilities Ensure the integration of business processes technology solutions and data to drive competitive capability and innovation Maintain knowledge of industry trends to improve competitiveness and stay abreast of leading-edge technology Lead through demonstration of Deltas core values as outlined in Rules of the Road Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being Able to manage and deliver multiple deliverables MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The Engineering Leader position requires a BS MS degree in a technical or scientific field 10 plus years of strong IT systems development in Python Java or other distributed application development 5 or more years of demonstrated technical leadership skills 3 or more years of experience in Cloud native technology AWS development Excellent leadership skills with experience leading teams and or direct reports Strong experience with agile engineering practices and lean management principles like Test Automation Test-Driven Development TDD Continuous Integration CI Continuous Delivery CD and DevSecOps Strong thought leadership and strategic thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to identify business issues opportunities and to frame sustainable solutions Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management Excellent collaboration and cross organization team building skills to drive results in a high matrix organizational model Experience managing and executing multiple priorities in a timely manner Ability to be effective in a rapidly changing complex technical environment Skills in process product management that ensures high quality reliable and cost-effective solutions Self-learner with the ability to pick up new technologies and provide tangible results Embraces diverse people thinking and styles and value continuous learning and improvement PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Background in Airline Industry Revenue Management and Business Rules engine is a plus ID DELNS001
