Formulation Scientist – Skincare (D2C Brand) Location: Remote / Bangalore / Mumbai / Delhi (India) Type: Full-time / Contract About the Role We're building a new-age D2C skincare brand rooted in real science, clean ingredients, and everyday efficacy. We’re looking for a hands-on Formulation Scientist to lead the development of high-performance skincare products—think moisturizers, sunscreens, cleansers, and anti-aging night creams—tailored for Indian skin and climate. You’ll own everything from early formulation to lab-to-market scale-up—and play a strategic role in setting up a reliable supplier and manufacturing ecosystem. What You’ll Do - Develop and optimize formulations for face cleansers, creams, sunscreens, and treatment serums - Research and evaluate actives (Vitamin C, Retinol, Niacinamide, etc.) for efficacy, stability, and skin safety - Conduct and document stability, compatibility, and preservative efficacy studies - Identify and qualify ingredient suppliers—natural, active, and clinically backed - Build partnerships with 3rd-party manufacturers and raw material suppliers to ensure quality, compliance, and scale readiness - Collaborate with regulatory, packaging, and branding teams to ensure claims are compliant and consumer-ready - Liaise with external labs for dermatological, microbial, and SPF testing - Prepare full formula documentation and support tech transfer to contract manufacturers What You Bring - M.Pharm / B.Tech (Cosmetic Science / Pharmaceutical Tech / Chemistry) - 3+ years of hands-on formulation experience in skincare or cosmetic products - Strong understanding of emulsions, surfactants, delivery systems, and clean label formulation - Experience managing vendor or contract manufacturer relationships is a big plus - Bonus if you’ve worked with D2C-first brands like Minimalist, Plum, Foxtale, Wow or Pilgrim Why Join Us You’ll shape a skincare brand built for real people, not marketing gimmicks.
