How You Will Contribute Responsible for developing functional test strategies, test plans, test execution along with automation suite for platform-independent current and next-generation packet software encompassing the broad spectrum of CIENA's networking products. You will get an opportunity to innovate and influence new technologies that shape the future of Next Generation networks. Responsibilities Include - Requires continuous research to ensure software features meet identified standards and product functional requirements - Develop, execute and automate functional test plans to verify product capabilities - Execution of test cases and reporting test results with artifacts using Test Rail/QC - Work closely with engineers across teams to ensure quality for the features - Build in-depth knowledge of product architecture and develop ability to root-cause issues - FS and test plan / scripts review: Able to host test plan reviews for assigned features, as well as to contribute to test plan reviews held by other team members. Attend independently and provide comments for the functional requirements and/or those relating to commercial specifications/RFCs for FS reviews - Develop test cases beyond what is described in FS, including compliancy to commercial specs and RFCs, potential and likely interactions with other features, which may involve complex scenarios and topology - Good Understanding of Carrier Ethernet products and at ease to ramp up quickly on new technologies and concepts. Required Skills - Position requires Proficient troubleshooting and Problem Solving Skills - Team Oriented; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to understand customers needs, expectations and Perspective . - Proven Communications skills, both verbal and written, to optimally communicate/collaborate with remote QA and Development teams - Strong dedication to Product excellence and Quality - Demonstrated ability to Multitask on Multiple Projects - Contributes (may take lead role) on a project team of engineers involved in the release and test of software. Quickly comes up to speed in understanding of advanced concepts/methodology and contributes to improving and extending the impact and efficiency of those concepts or new directions to the current project. - Conducts knowledge sharing sessions (Critical): Moderate to complex topics, including smaller protocol or RFC related information, specific functional area presentations or methods of procedures. Topics not product related that may help improve process or efficiency, such introduction to new tools for testers. Must Haves - BE / B.Tech. (EE/CS) Degree - 8+ Years of relevant experience in telecommunications, test and automation - Hands on Experience on Networking protocols: MP-BGP, L2VPN, EVPN, LDP, SRv4, SRv6 , SR-FlexAlgo, MPLS, RSVP-TE, TE-FRR, TI-LFA, management interface like Netconf, gnmi and more. - Good knowledge of Network Design and deployment scenarios in Carrier/Metro Ethernet Space is desirable - Experience with Packet Traffic generators - Experience on IxNetwork is desirable - Experience in automation would be big plus Assets - Independent Self-starter - Strong commitment to Product excellence - Excellent Communications skills - Capability to give Technical leadership to Small team of Test Engineers (Mentorship) - Collaboration with stakeholders - Work closely with all the Stakeholders (Design, Project Management, Documentation etc.) Not ready to apply Join our Talent Community to get relevant job alerts straight to your inbox.
