Project Lead- Application Engineering (Composites) Location: Bangalore Experience: 6–10 years (Minimum 4 years in Composite Materials & Fabrication) Fabheads is a deep-tech manufacturing startup founded by IIT alumni and ex-ISRO engineers. We cater to composite part manufacturing across A&D, EV, Marine, Biomedical, Drones, Robotics and other high-performance industries. Recognized as the Startup of the Year 2020 (Industry 4.0) and having won several other accolades, Fabheads works on several first-in-India and first-in-world automation systems—from next-gen robotic fiber placement machines to precision micro-automation platforms, just to name a few. Role Overview The Project Lead will be responsible for complete delivery ownership — from understanding customer requirements to project planning, task allocation, execution, quality control, and final handover. The role requires strong technical depth in composite materials, traditional and advanced manufacturing processes, and hands-on experience in fabrication processes, along with solid project management capabilities and client management. Key Responsibilities: Project Execution & Delivery - Lead end-to-end execution of all composite and automation projects. - Create and track project plans, timelines, milestones, and risk mitigation. - Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and meeting quality standards. Technical Expertise – Composites & Fabrication - Provide hands-on guidance on carbon fiber, glass fiber, resin systems, laminates, curing processes, tooling, vacuum infusion, and autoclave/oven workflows. - Support design reviews, process selection, and production optimization. - Ensure adherence to engineering standards and high-precision requirements. Client & Stakeholder Management - Act as the primary point of contact for customer projects. - Gather requirements, clarify technical details, and provide periodic updates. - Facilitate smooth coordination with internal design, R&D, procurement, and production teams. Quality & Process Control - Drive quality checks, inspections, and documentation for all deliverables. - Lead root-cause analysis in case of deviations and implement corrective actions. - Maintain structured project documentation and reporting. Requirements: Must-Have: - 6–10 years of total experience. - Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in composite materials and fabrication. - Strong knowledge of composite layups, molds, curing, tooling, and production processes. - Proven experience leading engineering or manufacturing projects. - Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional coordination skills. Good to Have: - Experience in Aerospace / Defence / EV / Marine / Robotics or similar high-precision industries. - Exposure to automation equipment, CNC, CAD tools, and quality systems (ISO/AS9100). - Familiarity with BOQs, vendor interaction, and production scheduling.
