Summary

The
SEO Project Lead
is responsible for the end-to-end execution, successful delivery, and performance monitoring of multiple client or internal SEO projects. This role ensures strategic alignment, manages cross-functional communication, maintains strict project timelines, and guarantees the quality of all SEO deliverables.

Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Project Management & Delivery

  • Project Planning:
    Develop detailed SEO project plans, scopes, timelines, and resource allocation schedules for new and ongoing campaigns.
  • Execution Oversight:
    Oversee the day-to-day execution of SEO tasks across technical, content, and off-page areas, ensuring strict adherence to the project scope and quality standards.
  • Workflow Management:
    Implement and enforce workflow methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum) using project management tools (like Jira or Zoho Projects) for efficient task tracking and resource management.

  • Risk Mitigation:
    Proactively identify potential project roadblocks, resource conflicts, and scope creep, implementing strategies to ensure timely delivery and budget adherence.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Technical Translation:
    Act as the liaison between the SEO team and the Development/Product teams. Translate complex technical SEO requirements (e.g., Core Web Vitals fixes, schema implementation) into clear, prioritized, and ready-to-implement tickets.

  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Serve as the primary internal contact for project status updates, ensuring that all project stakeholders (including Content, Design, and Senior Management) are aligned and informed.

  • Quality Assurance (QA):
    Verify the successful implementation of all SEO changes post-deployment (e.g., redirect mapping, meta tag updates) using relevant diagnostic tools.

  • Strategy & Reporting

  • Performance Monitoring:
    Continuously monitor project KPIs (rankings, organic traffic, index coverage) using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console (GSC) to confirm that project deliverables are achieving desired outcomes.

  • Documentation:
    Maintain comprehensive, accurate documentation of project decisions, change logs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for scalability and knowledge transfer.
  • Reporting:
    Assist in compiling and presenting clear, concise status updates and performance reports to clients or senior management.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience:
    4+ years
    of professional experience in SEO, with a minimum of
    2 years dedicated to Project Management
    within a digital agency or in-house environment.
  • Methodology:
    Strong practical experience with
    Project Management methodologies
    (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Expert-level knowledge of
    SEO tools
    (Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4).
  • Software Skills:
    High proficiency with
    Project Management Software
    (Jira, Asana, Zoho Projects) for ticketing and resource allocation.
  • Core Skills:
    Exceptional
    organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
