Job description Some careers shine brighter than others If you re looking for a career that will help you stand out join HSBC and fulfil your potential Whether you want a career that could take you to the top or simply take you in an exciting new direction HSBC offers opportunities support and rewards that will take you further HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world with operations in 64 countries and territories We aim to be where the growth is enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper and ultimately helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director Software Engineering Specialist In this role you will Own and manage end to end delivery of a diverse set of products and technologies within your agile team Be responsible for planning and delivery of the releases including functional and technical book of work items per the agreed release cadence and committed scope Ensure high quality outcomes that are performant and in line with business requirements and within agreed costs and timescales Technically and functionally lead pod teams of cross functional engineers for feature delivery Be hands on as required Be accountable for people management career performance and upskilling Conceptualise design develop and reuse effective engineering design patterns frameworks around the stated architecture strategy aligning to departmental standards as appropriate Drive operational delivery and engineering excellence across the pod teams Be accountable for production and for delivery Actively drive continuous improvement mature the organisation and improve productivity Focus on automation process improvement reuse and transformation towards Agile and DevOps Ensure compliance to end to end controls for the product and data including effective risk and control management inclusive of non-financial risks compliance and conduct responsibilities Adhere to HSBC standard processes Requirements To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements Proven track record of technology leadership and delivery across Databases Bigdata e g Hadoop Cloud e g GCP Azure Business Intelligence e g Qlik TM1 and Workflow e g Appian platforms Expertise and experience in leading deliveries with large and complex data structures volumes data analytics microservices and related infrastructure Excellent hand-on experience using GCP Dataproc Dataflow Big Query Compute Pub Sub Cloud Storage Strong knowledge of Industry Best Practice for ETL Design Principles Concepts Proficient with Bigdata technology e g PySpark JavaSpark Experience with Big Query SQL metadata authorised views query optimisation partitioning and clustering techniques DevOps and Agile engineering practitioner with experience of test driven development Take ownership of providing solutions and tools that iteratively increase engineering efficiencies Excellent communication skills team player and collaborator Participate in Continuous improvement and transformation towards Agile DevOps CI CD and drivers of improved productivity Experience of technology in banking within a finance division related domain would be a big plus Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills You ll achieve more when you join HSBC www hsbc com careers HSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued respected and opinions count We take pride in providing a workplace that fosters continuous professional development flexible working and opportunities to grow within an inclusive and diverse environment Personal data held by the Bank relating to employment applications will be used in accordance with our Privacy Statement which is available on our website Issued by - HSBC Software Development India
