Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Extension Services Delivery:

- Plan and conduct technical extension activities to educate and assist farmers or clients on best practices in agriculture, dairy, livestock, or related sectors.

Training & Capacity Building:

- Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and demonstrations for farmers, cooperatives, and field staff.

Field Visits:

- Regularly visit farms, dairy units, or client locations to provide hands-on technical support and monitor implementation of recommended practices.

Technology Transfer:

- Promote adoption of new technologies, improved breeds, quality inputs, and sustainable agricultural/dairy practices.

Data Collection & Reporting:

- Collect field data related to crop/livestock production, extension activities, and farmer feedback. Prepare timely reports for management.

Coordination:

- Collaborate with government departments, NGOs, research institutions, and other stakeholders for successful implementation of extension programs.

Problem Solving:

- Identify challenges faced by farmers or clients and provide practical solutions or escalate issues to higher authorities when needed.

Awareness Generation:

- Conduct awareness campaigns on government schemes, subsidies, health and safety, and environmental sustainability.

Resource Management:

- Manage and utilize extension materials, demonstration kits, and resources efficiently during field activities.

Monitoring & Evaluation:

- Track progress of extension interventions and evaluate their impact on productivity and income improvement.

Customer Relations:

- Build and maintain good relationships with farmers, cooperatives, and local communities to ensure continued participation and trust.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Dairy Science, Animal Husbandry, or related fields.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in extension services or related roles.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Strong field knowledge and practical problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in data collection and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
