Embark on a transformative journey as an Active Directory VP, where you'll play a key technical role in driving many Infrastructure activities, including technical support to facilitate design & delivery of Business driven changes and designing and implementation of solutions in line with technology roadmaps and global strategy. You'll act as an escalation point for Major Incidents related to AD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Projects and Initiatives related to AD Transformation.
  • Working with group IT Security and Governance teams to ensure all IT Security policies and standards are applied.
  • Implementation of Business-driven changes, Configuration of Group Policies.
  • Support of third-party Active Directory management tools, automations, backup solutions, monitoring tools, capacity management.
  • Developing installation and integration guides to aid implementation of solutions.
  • Developing Post Implementation "Best Practice, Troubleshooting and Operational guides" to aid support of installed services.
  • Problem resolution including: problem management, root cause analysis and implementation of remedies.
  • Technical review of affected systems with a view to alleviating problems inherent in design, configuration and /or implementation.
  • The provision of advice and consultancy aimed at minimising the occurrence and impact of service incidents through process improvement.

To be successful as an Active Directory VP, you should have:

  • Strong knowledge and support experience of Active Directory services on Windows 2012/2016/2019.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Powershell.
  • Able to manage own workload effectively & prioritize tasks during times of changing priorities/schedules.
  • Is good at presenting technical / business information to peers, colleagues and senior stakeholders in clear unambiguous language.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Strong experience in supporting Active Directory Services in Engineering and/or Operations.
  • Exceptional knowledge of major Windows component technologies and competent in discussing these in detail with other Subject Matter Experts.
  • Good Leadership skills to encourage/motivate team members to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of standards and procedures.
  • Understands the Availability & Continuity services offered by own technical function.
  • MCSE or MCITP qualified. Quest Toolset configuration and troubleshooting. Desired state configuration through CHEF.

Purpose of the role

To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.
  • Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
  • Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.
  • Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
  • Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
