About Us SG Analytics SGA a Global Insights and Analytics company focuses on ESG Data Analytics and Investment Market research services The company has a presence in New York San Francisco Austin Seattle Toronto London Zurich Pune Bengaluru and Hyderabad and growing consistently for the last few years SGA is a Great Place To Work GPTW certified company and with its thriving work environment shaped by a growth mindset abundant learning and a meritocracy-driven culture SG Analytics has also been awarded regional best employer in 2016 2018 2020 Role Associate Analyst Investment Research EquityPurpose The role involves conducting thorough research on the coverage universe and writing brief investment notes The role encompasses understanding the company s business model and factors affecting the company s prospects and articulating them in a research note in an easy-to-understand manner This is a sector-agnostic role and the candidate should be able to understand the nuances of the different sectors In addition the candidate should be able to assist senior team members on various ad-hoc requests including data gathering doing secondary research PowerPoint presentations etc Responsibilities Prepare and update Investment notes on Equity Coverage Universe Assist senior and lead analyst on various research tasks such as doing secondary research data gathering and any other ad-hoc request Should be able to comprehend the companys business model and basics of the sectors The candidate should have a strong analytical mindset and an eye for details Understanding of past and current affairs in the global financial markets to form an informed view Must have a sound understanding of basic financial concepts P L Balance Sheet Cash Flow statements key financial ratios etc Should have a basic understanding of different valuation concepts Ensure that the assigned tasks are completed within the deadline and ensure a top-quality output with a self-driven quality-check process Maintain flexibility to learn new techniques and functionalities and gain exposure to various types of assignments Contribute to SGA knowledge creation and ad hoc assignments Experience Skills 2-4 years of experience in Equity research engagements and should have MBA CFA CA Should be able to write thoughtful research notes and build financial models Proficiency in MS Word and Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills A strong team player willingness to learn and adapt are must-haves
