Overview We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to direct our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Services business. This position reports directly to the Head of IoT DE, and holds responsibility for the overall delivery of GIS programs to our global clientele. The selected candidate will oversee all aspects of GIS program execution for international customers, manage profit and loss, drive revenue growth, and uphold operational excellence across teams. This individual will serve as the principal representative for GIS within the organization and with external partners, ensuring the positioning of GIS services remains prominent in the market. Additionally, the individual will spearhead the development of innovative offerings in emerging fields such as autonomous mapping, location intelligence, and digital twins, thereby maintaining GIS as a leading differentiator in our engineering services portfolio. A pivotal qualification is expertise in applying AI/ML and automation to mapping processes to enhance efficiency and deliver increased customer value. The role also encompasses building and strengthening partnerships with top GIS platforms and technology providers. Key Responsibilities - Responsible for the P&L of the GIS services business, focusing on growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. - Develops and implements strategies to expand GIS offerings in new domains and geographies. - Collaborates with sales and account teams to identify opportunities, define value propositions, and contribute to proposal creation and client engagement. - Pursues margin improvement through productivity gains, automation, and efficient resource allocation. - Oversee delivery quality, project governance, and ensure on-time execution across multiple delivery centers. - Implements process automation, AI/ML-based mapping tools, and digital quality frameworks to improve productivity and accuracy. - Establishes partnerships with GIS platforms and technology providers. - Encourages a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and operational discipline. - Builds internal competencies aligned with emerging GIS trends and technologies. Key KPI’s - Revenue growth and gross margin for the GIS Subunit - Number of new customers added to the GIS. - Number of new service lines introduced. - Number of escalations concerning delivery performance. - Percentage enablement of AI within GIS workflows. - Number of strategic partnerships established. - P&L forecast accuracy. - Thought leadership visibility in the GIS industry. Qualifications: (Please list all required qualifications) - Bachelor’s or Master’s in Geoinformatics, Civil/Geospatial Engineering, Geography, or Computer Science. Years of experience required for position: (For Grade Mapping) - 15–20 years’ GIS/Geospatial experience, with 5+ years in leadership or P&L roles. - Experience at GIS service providers (e.G., Cyient, WIPRO) or mapping product companies (e.G., MapmyIndia, Esri). - Solid knowledge of map production workflows, spatial data creation/validation, and geospatial - technologies such as ESRI ArcGIS and QGIS. Attributes - Proven track record in expanding accounts, enhancing profit margins, and developing new revenue - streams. - Extensive experience collaborating with global clients, particularly those based in North America, - Europe, or Japan within the mapping and navigation sector. - Skilled in designing and implementing go-to-market strategies for innovative GIS-based service - offerings, such as mobility mapping, smart cities initiatives, and infrastructure digital twins. - Proficient in proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract management. - Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with confidence in engaging CXOs, engineering leaders, and product managers in client organizations. - Demonstrated ability to attract, mentor, and retain top GIS talent, including data engineers, cartographers, and technology specialists. - Adept at operating within a matrixed, global delivery environment.
