Optum is a global organization that delivers care aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives The work you do with our team will directly improve health outcomes by connecting people with the care pharmacy benefits data and resources they need to feel their best Here you will find a culture guided by inclusion talented peers comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities Come make an impact on the communities we serve as you help us advance health optimization on a global scale Join us to start Caring Connecting Growing together We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Leader to drive strategy execution and innovation across multiple product lines This role requires a solid technical foundation proven leadership capabilities and a passion for building high-performing teams and scalable systemsPrimary Responsibilities Define and execute engineering strategies that align with company goals and product vision Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams including managers and individual contributors fostering a culture of inclusion accountability and continuous growth Leverage experience in Value-Based Care and integration engines e g Rhapsody Mirth to build compliant and interoperable healthcare solutions Guide architectural decisions to ensure systems are scalable secure and maintainable Promote best practices in software development testing and deployment Lead initiatives to embed quality into every stage of development through automation Application API BPA and robust DevOps pipelines Drive performance reviews career development plans and succession strategies to build a resilient and scalable engineering organization Champion the adoption of AI in software development and testing processes to enhance productivity and quality Partner with Product Management Design and other business units to prioritize initiatives and deliver customer value Continuously improve engineering processes tools and culture to drive efficiency and innovation Define and track engineering KPIs related to performance velocity and quality to ensure alignment with business outcomes Oversee engineering budgets resource planning and vendor relationships to optimize delivery and cost-efficiency Ensure adherence to company policies and adapt to evolving business needs including changes in work location team structure or work arrangements Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract company policies and procedures and any and all directives such as but not limited to transfer and or re-assignment to different work locations change in teams and or work shifts policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and or work environment alternative work arrangements and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment The Company may adopt vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation implied or otherwise on its ability to do so Required Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field 15 years of experience in software engineering with 5 years in engineering leadership roles Proven experience leading distributed teams and engineering managers Experience in high-growth product-led organizations Experience in building and scaling DevOps and quality automation pipelines Deep knowledge of interoperability standards and integration engines Solid understanding of modern software architecture cloud infrastructure and agile methodologies Demonstrated success in delivering complex scalable software products Background in healthcare fintech or B2B SaaS industries At UnitedHealth Group our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone We believe everyone - of every race gender sexuality age location and income - deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest life Today however there are still far too many barriers to good health which are disproportionately experienced by people of color historically marginalized groups and those with lower incomes We are committed to mitigating our impact on the environment and enabling and delivering equitable care that addresses health disparities and improves health outcomes - an enterprise priority reflected in our mission LetsGrow
