Job Purpose:
Drive the contract preparation process systematically involving stakeholders such as Legal, P&C, and business user teams. Ensure that contracts are robust, adequate, and aligned with business objectives, minimizing risk exposure. Continuously improve model contract templates and clause libraries in consultation with Legal and P&C teams, incorporating lessons learned from business user teams during contract execution. Provide subject matter expertise on drafting and reviewing contracts to meet business objectives. Offer legal advice on contract terms and conditions, assisting in identifying and assessing risks related to alternative terms. Develop training curricula for contract managers and design structures to keep the team updated on legal, policy, and market developments.

This position reports to the Group Contract Compliance Head.
Key Accountabilities
1. Driving Contract Management Process
- A. Drive the contract preparation process involving business stakeholders such as the user team, legal, and procurement.
- B. Ensure the contract signing process is completed within the defined turnaround time.
- C. Establish and enforce a turnaround time for contract negotiations and finalization.
2. Review of Contracts
- A. Participate in reviewing contracts before finalization to ensure terms, obligations, SLAs, KPIs, etc., are clearly defined and aligned with business objectives.
- B. Ensure contracts are enforceable, robust, and meet business objectives.
3. Improving Contract Management Process
- A. Identify opportunities to improve current contract compliance processes and devise plans to implement these changes.
- B. Implement policies and procedures for contract compliance management in relation to pre-contracting based on company policies, supplier/customer requirements, regulatory bodies, and associations. Ensure timely review and updating of pre-contracting policies and procedures.
4. Capability Building
- Build the capability of business user teams on pre-contracting processes and contract management through training.
5. Maintaining Contracts Repository
- Ensure contract documentation is collated, stored, and managed properly.
6. People Management and Team Building
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Interactions
External Interactions:
- There will not be any direct interaction with external parties; however, participation with vendors, clients, and government stakeholders alongside the legal, procurement, and business teams will occur as necessary.

- GMR Procurement team
- GMR Legal team
- GMR Finance team
- GMR Operations team
- GMR Business team (across various sectors like airport, energy, etc.)
Educational Qualifications:
- Master's in Business Administration or Master's Degree in Law
- Additional certifications from the World Commerce and Contracting Association are a plus:
- Contract Compliance Management Associate Fundamentals
- Contract Compliance Management Practitioner Practitioner
Relevant Experience:
- At least 10-15 years of relevant industry experience in Contract Management and Subcontract Administration functions (preference for candidates with experience in airports, energy sectors).
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with contracts executed under Common Law / Indian Law.
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with senior-level management.
- High degree of initiative, creativity, and professional presence.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
