Summary
The Recruiter - SMB SOW is a critical talent acquisition role dedicated to sourcing, screening, and placing top-tier candidates for statement-of-work (SOW) projects within small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). This position focuses on building strong partnerships with SMB clients to deliver customized recruiting solutions tailored to their unique project needs, outside of managed service provider (MSP) or vendor management system (VMS) frameworks. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, leveraging expertise in SMB recruiting to ensure efficient, high-quality placements that drive project success and client satisfaction. With minimal travel (less than 10%), this role offers remote-friendly operations while occasionally supporting on-site client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively source, attract, and screen qualified candidates for SOW-based roles in IT, professional services, and related fields, utilizing job boards, social media, networking events, and Pinnacle&aposs internal database.
- Collaborate closely with SMB clients to gather detailed SOW requirements, timelines, and skill sets, acting as a trusted advisor to align talent solutions with their business objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for SOW engagements, including job postings, interviews, reference checks, offer negotiations, and onboarding, ensuring timely and high-quality placements.
- Stay informed on SMB market trends, talent availability, and competitive landscapes to provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Monitor and report on key recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, placement success rates, candidate quality, and client feedback, implementing improvements to optimize processes.
- Ensure all recruiting activities comply with legal standards, company policies, and SOW contract terms, maintaining accurate records in applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Work with sales, account management, and delivery teams to support SOW project launches, resolve placement issues, and enhance overall client experiences.
- Build and nurture a robust pipeline of candidates specialized in areas relevant to SMB SOW needs, fostering long-term relationships for future opportunities.
- Contribute to the refinement of recruiting strategies, tools, and best practices tailored to SMB and SOW environments, promoting efficiency and scalability.
- Occasionally travel (less than 10%) for in-person client meetings, talent assessments, or networking events to strengthen SMB partnerships.
Requirements
- Proven experience recruiting for small to medium-sized businesses, with a deep understanding of their agile, resource-constrained environments and project-based needs.
- Strong background in statement-of-work recruiting, emphasizing project-specific placements rather than enterprise-scale MSP or VMS models.
- Demonstrated success in full-cycle recruiting, with skills in sourcing diverse talent pools, conducting behavioral interviews, and closing offers effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to build rapport with candidates, clients, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-motivated and data-driven, with a track record of meeting or exceeding placement goals in a dynamic, volume-based recruiting setting.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment while managing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving client demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- 35 years in recruiting for IT staffing, professional services, or workforce solutions, specifically within SMB clients and SOW frameworks.
- Familiarity with SMB procurement processes, project-based hiring, and non-MSP/VMS talent acquisition strategies.
- Willingness to travel minimally for client engagements or industry events.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (e.g., Bullhorn, Workday), CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing platforms is a plus.
