About AirAsia Move AirAsia MOVE is a digital travel lifestyle app that aims to revolutionize the travel experience by offering seamless and integrated services for booking flights accommodations activities and more As part of the AirAsia Group we are dedicated to providing innovative solutions that enhance the digital travel lifestyle Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Flights Engineering team specifically focusing on Search Ancillary capabilities The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend and frontend technologies a passion for developing scalable and robust flights systems and a proven track record of managing engineering teams Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Flights Engineering team responsible for the development and maintenance of the Flights platform focused on Search Ancillary for Pre-booking and Post booking journeys Oversee the design development and deployment of backend services using Java Spring Boot SQL Redis and Google Cloud Platform GCP Ensure the integration and seamless functionality of frontend components developed with React for web and React Native for mobile applications Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management UX UI and Operations to deliver high-quality and reliable flights solutions Mentor and develop team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering including code quality testing and automation Oversee budgeting resource allocation and staffing for the Flights Engineering team Monitor system performance and reliability proactively identifying and addressing potential issues Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our flight platform remains competitive and innovative Technical Requirements Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot Strong experience with SQL and database design Knowledge of Redis for caching solutions Expertise in deploying and managing services on Google Cloud Platform GCP Solid understanding of React and its ecosystem Skills Leadership Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor motivate and guide a team of engineers Analytical Skills Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a strategic approach to addressing challenges Communication Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and team collaboration Project Management Effective project management capabilities to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field Master s degree preferred 8 years of experience in software development with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role Proven experience in building and maintaining high-performance scalable microservices Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make technical decisions in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment Experience with other cloud platforms and technologies Knowledge of travel tech and APIs and practices of travel tech companies Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools Reporting Line This position reports to the Head of Engineering Flights Why Join Us Lead a key team within Asia s top travel tech company shaping the future of digital travel Work in a dynamic innovative environment with cutting-edge cloud technologies Benefit from a supportive culture that promotes personal and professional growth Competitive compensation package including comprehensive benefits We are all different - one talent to another - that is how we rely on our differences At AirAsia you will be treated fairly and given all chances to be your best We are committed to creating a diverse work environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer Search Firm Representatives - AirAsia does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities All CVs resumes submitted by search firms to any employee at our company without a valid written search agreement in place will be deemed the sole property of our company No fee will be paid in the event a candidate is hired by our company as a result of an agency referral where no pre-existing agreement is in place
