Job Description Job Title: Data Governance Contractor Location: Remote Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Contractor to establish and implement a comprehensive governance framework for the Finance Data Platform (FDP), ensuring compliance with GDO and Visa standards from inception. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data governance, data cataloging, data lineage, and cloud migration (on-prem to AWS). Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a data governance framework aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards. - Define data ownership models, including stewardship roles and escalation paths. - Establish data standards and conventions (naming, metadata, access controls, retention, and classification policies). - Design and implement data quality and reconciliation rules to maintain data accuracy and consistency. - Create and maintain data governance documentation, including policies, procedures, and playbooks for Finance. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance, GDO, Mimi team) to operationalize governance processes. - Ensure all governance activities align with audit and compliance requirements. - Support implementation and optimization of data catalog and data lineage capabilities. - Work on data migration initiatives, particularly moving from on-premises to AWS Cloud. Required Skills & Experience: - Proven experience (5+ years) in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality roles. - Strong understanding of data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue Data Catalog, or similar). - Hands-on experience with data lineage and metadata management. - Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS) and on-prem to cloud data migration. - Knowledge of data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance frameworks. - Excellent documentation and communication skills. - Experience working in financial or enterprise data environments is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: - Certification in Data Governance, AWS, or Data Management (e.g., DAMA, DCAM). - Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and BI tools.
