Job Description: K–5 ELA Subject Matter Expert

We are seeking a detail-oriented and pedagogically knowledgeable individual to review, revise, and finalize a wide range of K-5 ELA digital and print content (instruction videos, practice question items, passages, and assessment question items). A strong understanding of K-2 foundational skills, such as phonemic awareness and phonics, along with knowledge of key 3-5 skill domains such as vocabulary acquisition, grammar, and reading comprehension, is essential for this role. Your participation in our content development processes and workflows will help ensure the materials meet grade-level expectations for rigor, engagement, and accessibility. Careful adherence to authoring and production guidelines, clear communication, and the ability to follow and apply feedback are crucial to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review K-5 content generated by a variety of authors/resources, including AI.
- Evaluate the grade appropriateness of the language, sentence structure, conventions, and overall engagement of instructional materials, especially reading passages and practice question items.
- Assess the quality and rigor of the questions, answer choices, and distractors, ensuring alignment with target skills.
- Revise content to meet expectations provided in guidelines and other key project documentation.
- Use content authoring tools to publish instructional materials.
- Collaborate with K-5 team members to meet project needs, expectations, and deadlines.

Qualifications:

- K-5 experience in literacy instruction, curriculum development, or educational content review.
- Deep understanding of key ELA domains such as phonics and reading comprehension skills.
- Familiarity with digital instructional tools and accessibility features.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to independently complete tasks to meet project goals.Bottom of Form
