Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and strategic Distribution Manager to lead and expand our distribution network in the insurance sector. As a Distribution Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage and grow insurance product distribution through a combination of channels—such as agency, bancassurance, corporate brokers, and digital partners. This role is pivotal in driving revenue, achieving growth targets, and strengthening our presence in key markets. You will oversee channel performance, manage relationships with partners, implement sales strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of the insurance industry, strong leadership capabilities, and a track record of successfully managing multi-channel sales operations.Key ResponsibilitiesChannel Management Develop, manage, and expand distribution channels, including agency, bancassurance, direct, digital, and broker/partner networks. Identify potential partners and agents, and onboard them into the company’s distribution system. Ensure that all distribution partners are well-trained, compliant, and equipped to meet sales objectives. Sales Planning & Target Achievement Define and implement sales and distribution strategies in alignment with overall company goals. Set monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for each channel and monitor performance regularly. Ensure revenue and profitability targets are met through effective territory planning and resource allocation. Drive product penetration and premium collection across distribution points. Team Leadership & Development Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Managers, Area Managers, and Field Executives. Conduct regular training and development sessions to keep teams and partners updated on product offerings and regulatory changes. Foster a high-performance culture focused on results, accountability, and continuous improvement. Partner Relationship Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with channel partners, intermediaries, and key stakeholders. Act as a liaison between the company and external distributors, ensuring timely resolution of issues and alignment with business priorities. Conduct regular business reviews with partners and drive joint business planning. Market Development & Strategy Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and customer behavior to identify growth opportunities. Collaborate with the marketing team for local promotional campaigns and events to enhance brand presence and lead generation. Suggest product improvements or new offerings based on customer and partner feedback. Compliance & Operational Efficiency Ensure adherence to IRDAI and company compliance norms across all distribution activities. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and audit trails in line with legal and regulatory requirements. Implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize fraud and operational errors. Reporting & Analysis Prepare regular reports on channel performance, market penetration, and forecast trends for senior management. Use CRM tools and data analytics to track productivity, customer engagement, and revenue patterns.
