These machines are prevalent in India's manufacturing sectors, particularly consumer goods, where automation ensures precise assembly tasks such as feeding, gripping, and positioning components. The position requires hands-on technical skills to maintain production efficiency and minimize downtime in a fast-paced industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Operation: Start and stop the machine, load materials (e.g., foam or components), monitor production cycles, and ensure consistent output quality. Repair/Troubleshooting: Identify causes of machine stops (e.g., due to pneumatic leaks, gripper misalignment, or servo faults), and perform basic fixes such as resetting PLC errors, adjusting pressures, or replacing simple parts. Required Knowledge and Skills Pneumatics: 1. Understanding of cylinder operation, valves, air lines, and pressure regulation. 2. PLC: Basic knowledge of ladder logic and input/output troubleshooting (full programming not required). 3. Grippers/Servo Motors: Skills in alignment, calibration, and fault detection for precise handling. Educational Qualifications: ITI in Mechanical (or Fitter Trade): 1-2 years duration, NSQF Level 4-5, focusing on practical skills in machine tools, fitting, and basic pneumatics/hydraulics. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: 3 years, post-10th standard, polytechnic-level program covering theory on mechanics, automation, PLC basics, servo systems, and CAD. Note: ITI qualification is typically sufficient for entry-level operation, while the Diploma is preferred for roles emphasizing repair and troubleshooting.
