Job Description

Crediwatch is looking to hire a full time credit analyst who strives to work in a dynamic startup environment. An ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of companies financial and behavioral concepts for credit risk assessment and have a good approach towards learning and problem-solving.

The selected candidate will support the development and testing of Early Warning Signals (EWS) and Credit Scoring Models for borrower risk profiling. The role involves working closely with financial data, bank transactions, compliance indicators (GST, MCA, EPFO), and interacting with cross-functional teams like Data Science, Product, and Engineering. The candidate should also be able to work on tight deadlines as and when required without compromising on the quality of work by ensuring eye for detail

Roles and Responsibilities

- Analyse financial statements, alternative data (banking, GST, MCA, macro), and behavioural trends to assess credit risk
- Contribute to developing, defining and documenting Early Warning Signals and credit scoring models.
- Work closely with engineering and data science teams to explain EWS parameters and assist in end-to-end testing and implementation.
- Continuous engagement with other teams within the organisation (Data Science, Engineering, Design, Business Development) to ensure product development/upgrades/enhancements are taken to production.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of risk outputs to clients with quality checks and validations.
- Assist in research related activities in areas where Crediwatch is positioned especially within the MSME segment, alternative data, etc. and derive insights which position our products in the market.
- Maintain and update the credit signal catalogue and credit model paper with clear definitions and use cases.
- Stay updated on regulations and industry trends impacting credit and risk assessment.
- Present data and insights in a clear and structured manner for internal and client use.

Required Qualification:

B.Com, BBA, BA (Economics), or similar - CA Inter / CFA Level 1 cleared is a plus

Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in banking or credit risk profile

Required Knowledge:

- Basic understanding of credit analysis, financial ratios, and borrower risk profiling
- Awareness of banking products, credit processes, and compliance indicators
- Strong Excel skills (mandatory); basic knowledge of Python/R/SQL preferred
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Team player, adaptable, and proactive in approach
