Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

- End-to-End Editorial Process:
- Oversee the entire editorial process, ensuring smooth content creation, editing, and publishing workflows.
- Plan, organize, and execute editorial calendars to align with content goals and deadlines.
- Content Editing and Proofreading:
- Edit and proofread content for grammar, clarity, accuracy, tone, and consistency.
- Ensure content adheres to editorial guidelines and is suitable for the target audience.
- Collaboration and Content Development:
- Work with writers, designers, and marketing teams to develop engaging and high-quality content.
- Brainstorm ideas, suggest topics, and guide content creation based on audience needs and trends.
- Brand Alignment:
- Ensure all content aligns with the brand's voice, tone, and editorial guidelines.
- Maintain a consistent style across all content, ensuring it resonates with the brand identity and audience preferences.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and support to writers and editors.
- Develop editorial guidelines and help writers and editors improve their skills.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with design, marketing, and digital teams for content integration across various platforms.
- Ensure content is optimized for digital channels, ensuring the seamless integration of design and copy.
- Industry Awareness:
- Stay updated on industry trends, reader preferences, and best practices in content creation, publishing, and distribution.
- Research competitor content and industry trends to continuously refine editorial strategies.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Balance editorial demands with tight deadlines, ensuring efficient and effective execution of all editorial tasks.

Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in content creation, editing, or publishing, with a strong portfolio of work.
- Skills:
- Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and editorial style.
- Experience managing editorial teams and workflows.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing time effectively and adhering to deadlines.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

- Strong storytelling and structuring skills for creating compelling narratives.
- Eye for design and layout for both digital and print formats.
- Experience in educational publishing, children's content, news, or lifestyle content (customize based on your context).
- Basic knowledge of analytics to track content performance and make data-driven decisions for future content strategies.
