Zeno is seeking a Battery Technician to support the assembly, testing, and maintenance of lithium-ion battery packs for electric motorcycles. To meet 2040 net zero goals, over 2 billion electric two-wheelers (motorcycles) must be sold and $11 trillion in fuel consumption replaced. Zeno is building a tech platform to electrify this two-wheeler market, currently responsible for more than 4% of the world’s GHG emissions. Our mission is to accelerate the energy transition and democratize the benefits across Africa, India, and Latin America. With a focus on East Africa as a starting point, Zeno is building a new energy ecosystem with ground-up development of a fundamentally better electric motorcycle and associated battery swap network to drive a better experience for our customers. The Role Zeno is seeking a Battery Technician / Intern to support the assembly, testing, and maintenance of lithium-ion battery packs for electric motorcycles. This role is ideal for candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in EV battery systems and learn from senior engineers in a fast-growing, mission-driven environment. What You’ll Do - Conduct BMS firmware testing and process field data analysis. - Assist in the assembly and disassembly of battery modules and packs. - Conduct basic electrical and mechanical testing of battery components. - Support battery validation and testing activities, including charge/discharge cycles and thermal monitoring. - Maintain accurate records of tests, measurements, and observations. - Assist in troubleshooting field and lab battery issues under guidance. - Follow safety protocols & best practices for handling high-voltage battery systems. - Collaborate with engineers and technicians to implement improvements in battery handling and testing procedures. - Support inventory and management of battery components and tools. What You Bring - Diploma, degree, or ongoing studies in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering. - Interest in electric vehicles and battery technologies. - Basic understanding of electrical circuits, measurements, and safety protocols. - Hands-on mindset with ability to follow instructions accurately. - Strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and willingness to learn. - Good communication and teamwork skills.
