Job Description

Procurement & Sourcing:

- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials such as stainless steel scrap, ferro alloys (Ferro Chrome, Ferro Manganese, Ferro Silicon, Silico Manganese), refractories, dolomite, fluxes, and other critical items.
- Oversee global sourcing and vendor development for materials including lime, graphite electrodes, mill scale, iron ore, copper, aluminium, and cored wires.
- Handle capital procurement, production and maintenance consumables, and spares for the smooth operation of a 6.0 Lakh MT per annum steel plant.
- Coordinate with internal teams for technical procurement specifications, including mechanical equipment and drawing-based items.
- Ensure effective packaging development, vendor onboarding, and compliance with ISO audits and SAP-MM modules.

Contracts & Vendor Management:

- Prepare and negotiate purchase contracts and service agreements including VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory).
- Liaise with finance for LC processing and ensure timely fund release to suppliers.
- Manage service contracts for drilling, blasting, equipment repair, installation, mining operations, power plant, coke plant, canteen, and building construction/maintenance.

Inventory Management & Materials Control:

- Maintain optimal inventory levels using ABC/XYZ and consumption analysis techniques to avoid production disruptions.
- Manage stores operations, stock audits, and reconciliation of physical stock at warehouses.
- Process purchase orders ensuring timely dispatch aligned with arrival plans and monthly targets.

Import & Export Logistics:

- Coordinate import/export logistics involving ocean and air shipments, customs clearance, transporters, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and CHAs.
- Ensure documentation and compliance for EPCG, DEPB, duty drawback, and GST regulations across multiple plant locations.
- Monitor inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and finished goods.

MIS & Reporting:

- Prepare and maintain monthly MIS reports including pending POs, Material in Transit (MIT) reports, arrival plans, and RFQ pendency reports.
- Present weekly procurement dashboards and updates to management, including CFO review.

Audit & Compliance:

- Represent procurement function during internal and external audits ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
- Ensure transparency and proper documentation across procurement and logistics activities.

Sourcing & Cost Optimization:

- Identify cost-saving opportunities by exploring alternative materials, indigenous sourcing, and negotiating payment terms.
- Implement best practices to enhance sourcing efficiency and meet client ceiling prices through intensive vendor negotiation.
