Structural Engineer

Job Overview The Structural Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Structural Eng and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Structural Eng problems They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures as well as building knowledge of the company processes and customers The Structural Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience judgment and precedents Responsibilities Key Tasks and Responsibilities Perform FEED Studies and detailed design engineering analysis and calculations on more complex and demanding engineering tasks Apply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignments Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines Focus on completing work within budgets Clearly communicate and explain information in straightforward engineering activities Gain familiarity with the project scope of work specifications schedule and all inter-discipline requirements including identifying concerns as early as practicable Initiate interface with other disciplines to obtain input for discipline designs Perform computer analyses of structures designed by others with guidance from Senior PPL engineers Prepare design calculations as required Assist in the preparation of specifications with guidance from colleagues Perform engineering check of drafting Performs engineering checks prepared by others within the discipline Perform design verification through single discipline check and assist with inter-discipline checks IDC Prepare review MTO s of structures under supervision Provide engineering support as required Assist in the preparation of subcontract documents Review vendor data Assist in bid evaluations Reports to Project Lead Engineer Functional Supervising Department Manager Liaise with All design drafting disciplines all Engineering disciplines Construction site Fabrication groups and Document control Supervises Trainee EngineersQualifications Essential Qualifications and Education Bachelor s Degree or Master s Degree in Engineering 3-8 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design or equivalent experience in a similar project environment is desirable Preferably a Registered Engineer in Training ElT or member of a professional engineering society desirable Eager to learn Working knowledge of English both oral and written HSE TQM and cost-conscious Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to The reassignment to other departments construction sites and fabrication yards The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads also other projects when possible desirable The managing learning of future current working methods and software applications Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions Familiar with the content and application of standards codes and guidelines as applicable Knowledge of many basic design techniques and analysis methods LI-PM1About Us Lutech Resources has over 25 years experience providing tailor made recruitment and integrated resource management to leading Engineering Energy and Manufacturing sector companies worldwide We set ourselves apart from others in the industry by building long term relationships with both our clients and candidates based on a mutual understanding of their targeted industry and a passion for excellence With every engagement our goal is to quickly place qualified talent with the best suited employer We have a genuine understanding of candidates and clients needs Along with a dynamic and effective service we strive for positive outcomes for everyone every time
