SMTS SOFTWARE SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER THE ROLE: We are seeking an FPGA-Based Design & Validation Expert to architect, implement, and validate advanced FPGA IPs and also to work on Bring-Up of complex IPs on hardware. This individual will own the design cycle from RTL development through lab bring-up and system-level integration, collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams. A strong background in both FPGA design/debug methodologies, Prototyping, validation and software co-development is essential. THE PERSON: This AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) team is looking for a senior level person that can help guide the team, mentor upcoming developers, provide long range strategy, and is willing to jump into help resolve issues quickly. You will be involved in all areas that impact the team includingperformance, automation, and development.The right candidate will beinformed on the latest trends and become prepared to give consultative direction to senior management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design, implement, and optimize FPGA IPs in Verilog/SystemVerilog (or VHDL) for datacenter-class systems. - Lead pre-silicon verification using industry-standard simulation and formal verification tools. - Bring up FPGAs on custom PCB platforms, executing validation and debugging at the board/system level. - Collaborate with desingn, verification, firmware and software engineers to integrate FPGA IPs into larger system workflows. - Work with Emulation and Prototyping platforms to develop and validate complex system prototypes. - Use FPGA toolchains (Xilinx Vivado, EDA toolchains or similar) for synthesis, P&R, and debugging. - Support system bring-up, DVT, and factory qualification as part of full product lifecycle. - Lead the validation and bring-up of FPGA-based prototyping platforms, ensuring functionality and performance meet design specifications. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: - Exposure to systems architecture - Strong understanding of FPGA architectures and digital design principles. - Proven expertise with Xilinx Vivado / AMD Versal or EDA FPGA toolchains. - Hands-on experience with lab bring-up and validation of FPGA-based PCBs. - Familiarity with software design (C/C++ or embedded Linux) for FPGA-driver interaction. - Knowledge of high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, CXL, etc.). - Solid programming skills in Python, C, or C++ ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: - Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field #LI-NS1 Benefits offered are described: .
