Freelance Role: SAP IDoc

Role Description We are seeking an experienced SAP Logistics Support Trainer with strong hands-on knowledge in IDoc monitoring, ASN processing, delivery execution, and ERP-WMS integration. The role involves training operational teams, creating troubleshooting playbooks, and providing functional support for day-to-day SAP logistics issues including deliveries, consignment processes, goods issue/receipt (GI/GR), and interface failures. This role is ideal for a consultant who has worked in SAP SD / MM / LE / EDI / IDoc support and can teach business/end-users how to handle exceptions, analyze failures, and execute proper reversal procedures. Key Responsibilities - Train users on how to monitor and troubleshoot SAP IDocs - Deliver hands-on training on ASN creation, transmission, validation, and resend procedures - Build and document standard operating procedures for: - Delivery processing issues - ASN failures or duplicates - IDoc workflow and error resolution - GI/GR confirmation issues - ERP ↔ WMS interface failures - Guide users on how to verify ASN transmission history - Train teams on how to avoid duplicate ASN sends and when resend is allowed - Create resolution manuals for: - Stuck or failed IDocs - Missing POD, missing GI, missing confirmations - Teach correct reversal versus cancellation handling for consignment stock processes - Develop troubleshooting checklists for: - SAP Delivery execution - EDI/ASN processing - IDoc status handling - WMS-SAP interface queues - Support continuous improvement and process adherence across SCM / OE / CSR operational teams Required Skills - 5+ years SAP experience in SD / MM / LE / EDI support - Strong practical skills in - IDOC monitoring (WE02 / WE05 / BD87) - ASN processing and message control - GI/GR confirmations - Consignment fill-up, issue & return flows - Experience handling WMS ↔ SAP interface issues - Ability to analyze EDI failures and reprocess stuck IDocs - Experience training supply chain / order execution teams - Strong troubleshooting capability and documentation skills Sample Topics the Trainer Will Cover - How to display IDocs and understand processing status - How to check if ASN was generated and successfully transmitted - Understanding IDoc segments and ASN data structure - Steps to reprocess failed or stuck ASN IDocs - How to validate GI/GR and prevent billing discrepancies - Proper consignment order reversal methods instead of document cancellation - How to monitor duplicate ASN transmissions and prevent customer rejection Deliverables - End-user training (live and/or recorded sessions) - Troubleshooting playbooks and quick-reference guides - SAP transaction walk-through documentation - Error flow diagrams for common logistic failures - Post-production hypercare support (optional) Ideal Candidate - Has worked in SAP support for Manufacturing, Distribution, or Automotive supply chain - Understands business operations, not just technical screens - Can clearly explain why issues happen and how to prevent them - Has previously served as SAP Trainer, Logistics SME, or Order Execution Support Analyst
