Job Title: Business Head – Contract Manufacturing (Furniture)
Location: NCR
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Managing Director / CEO
Role Summary
We are seeking a strategic and execution-driven leader to head our Contract Manufacturing vertical in the furniture domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scaling smart manufacturing setups across key regions in India, building a high-performance team, and institutionalizing robust processes to deliver operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Own and drive the full P&L of the contract manufacturing vertical.
Lead day-to-day operations across sourcing, production, quality control, and logistics.
Ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality standards across all manufacturing partners.
Smart Manufacturing Expansion
Identify and establish smart manufacturing hubs in strategic regions decided from time to time
Evaluate and onboard third-party manufacturers with capabilities in modular, custom, and sustainable furniture production.
Drive automation, digital workflows, and lean practices to enhance scalability and efficiency.
Team Building & Leadership
Build and mentor a cross-functional team across operations, sourcing, quality, and client servicing.
Foster a culture of ownership, agility, and continuous improvement.
Implement performance metrics and review systems to drive accountability and growth.
Process Design & Implementation
Institutionalize SOPs across vendor onboarding, production planning, quality checks, and client communication.
Deploy ERP and digital tools to streamline operations and reporting.
Ensure compliance with safety, labour, and environmental regulations.
Strategic Partnerships & Client Management
Collaborate with D2C brands, retailers, architects, and institutional buyers to deliver tailored manufacturing solutions.
Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and service-level agreements.
Support clients in prototyping, sampling, and scaling product lines.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
10+ years in furniture manufacturing or allied industries, with 5+ years in a senior operational leadership role.
Proven track record in scaling contract manufacturing setups and managing multi-regional operations.
Skills
Strong operational and commercial acumen.
Deep understanding of furniture materials, finishes, and production technologies.
Expertise in team leadership, vendor management, and process optimization.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Operations Management or Business. MBA preferred.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with ERP systems and smart factory setups.
Familiarity with sustainability certifications and green manufacturing practices.
Network within retail, hospitality, and interior design communities.
