Institution Maharashtra Institute of Optometry Location Latur Maharashtra Affiliation A Unit of MAEER s MIT Group of Institutions Position Type Full-Time Clinical Academic Support Qualification Required Degree or Diploma in Ophthalmic Science Optometry Experience Minimum 1-2 years preferred Application Deadline 27 July 2025 About the Institution Maharashtra Institute of Optometry part of the prestigious MAEER s MIT Group is dedicated to delivering excellence in optometry education and vision care services We are committed to training the next generation of eye care professionals with a blend of academic rigor and clinical practice To support this mission we invite applications from qualified and skilled Ophthalmic Medical Officers Optometrists for a full-time position Eligibility Criteria Essential Qualification o B Sc in Optometry OR o Diploma in Ophthalmic Techniques Ophthalmic Assistant Optometry from a recognized institute Experience o Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in an eye hospital vision center or academic institution o Freshers with strong clinical knowledge and training may also apply Registration if applicable o Registered with relevant State Paramedical Council or Optometry Council optional but preferred Roles Responsibilities 1 Clinical Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive eye examinations including vision testing refraction and slit-lamp evaluation Diagnose common visual problems such as myopia hypermetropia astigmatism presbyopia and assist in fitting of spectacles and contact lenses Manage vision screening camps and perform primary eye care services in coordination with ophthalmologists Educate patients about eye health prevention of eye diseases and proper use of optical devices 2 Academic Student Support If in Educational Setup Assist in practical training sessions for optometry students Demonstrate clinical procedures such as retinoscopy keratometry tonometry and visual field analysis Support students during OPD postings and community screening camps Maintain equipment instruments and student clinical logs 3 Vision Center Community Services Participate in outreach programs school screenings and awareness drives related to eye care Assist in maintaining patient records prescriptions and follow-up databases Coordinate with higher centers for referrals in case of advanced pathologies or surgeries Key Skills Attributes Sound clinical knowledge and optometry techniques Excellent communication and patient-handling skills Ability to work with ophthalmologists faculty and students Hands-on experience with optometric instruments and vision care tools Strong ethical standards and a patient-first approach Desirable Experience working in a medical optometry college or hospital Knowledge of computer-based vision screening software or EMRs Involvement in eye care awareness programs or NGO activities Fluency in English Marathi and or Hindi Salary Benefits As per institutional norms based on qualifications and experience Opportunity to work in a growing academic and clinical environment Access to professional training workshops and community events How to Apply Eligible candidates are requested to send their CV qualification certificates experience documents and a recent photograph to Email - mimsredoffice gmail com Website - https mio edu in Subject Line Application for Ophthalmic Medical Officer Optometrist Job Type Full-time Pay From 20 000 00 per month Work Location In person
