Job Description: Senior User Researcher (EHR | B2B Healthcare) About the Role We're looking for a strategic User Researcher to lead foundational research for a first-of-its-kind EHR (Intelligent Health Management System), co-developed with leading hospital partners. This role will uncover deep insights into clinical workflows, compliance needs, and operational realities to shape a product from the ground up. In this role, you will lead research initiatives that uncover the realities of healthcare workflows, pain points, and motivations within hospital networks and patient communities. Your insights will directly inform how the Platform bridges clinical and personal health contexts — from streamlining documentation and care coordination to improving patient engagement and data transparency. What You'll Do - Drive strategic generative and evaluative research initiatives to shape the foundational design of a next-generation EMR platform, aligning clinical insights with long-term product vision and stakeholder priorities. - Collaborate directly with clinicians, hospital administrators, compliance teams, and IT stakeholders across partner hospitals to uncover unmet needs and workflow pain points. - Facilitate the creation of compelling storytelling artifacts—including personas, journey maps, and service blueprints—to align cross-functional teams and drive shared understanding of user needs. This includes leading collaborative workshops that bring together clinicians, administrators, designers, product and engineers to co-construct journey maps and service blueprints. - Design and execute mixed-method research (qualitative + quantitative) to validate early user problems, concepts, prototypes, and workflows. - Synthesize research data into compelling, actionable insights—through storytelling, personas, journey maps, workshops, presentations, or reports—that drive user-centric decision-making. - Build scalable research systems—repositories, templates, and frameworks—to support iterative development. - Translate complex clinical and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HL7/FHIR, auditability) into actionable product opportunities. - Champion ethical design and accessibility, ensuring the product supports safe and inclusive clinical practices. - Integrate research within an agile development environment. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and product managers, cross-functional and industry partners to understand research scope, translate. insights into tangible product concepts and frameworks informing product decisions. What You Bring - Ideally 5+ years of experience in User Research, preferably in healthcare B2B software. - Hands-on experience conducting contextual user interviews, diary studies, usability tests, data synthesis, and stakeholder workshops. - Experience collaborating with clinicians or operating in regulated industries. - Strong understanding of hospital or clinical software workflows. - Experience working in agile, cross-functional environments. - Proven track record of leading successful research initiatives that drive business growth and customer satisfaction. - Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Nice-to-Have - Familiarity with EMRs/EHRs/PHRs, medical terminologies, HL7/FHIR standards (plus) - Knowledge of accessibility standards & health tech compliance.
